On March 15, 1855—when the city was still half-bound by winter, the river navigation not yet opened, and many factories just emerging from their time of winter lay-offs—the Troy Daily Times revived the Robinson affair with a long article, “Who Is Mrs. Robinson?—The Question Answered—The Secret Out.” After a run-through of the past year's Wood daughter theory, the Times announced in a dramatic finish to the piece:

… we assert, upon proofs that have come to light—proof that will carry conviction to every candid mind, and before which even interested affidavits must vanish into thin air—that Mrs. Robinson, now in jail in this city, convicted of the murder of Timothy Lanagan, is none other than the identical [sic] Charlotte Wood, formerly of Quebec, a former pupil at the Troy Female Seminary—a sister of the Mr. Wood of Quebec, who swore that she was not his sister!

If this statement is denied and the proofs are demanded, we are ready to substantiate it by evidence that cannot be shaken.
